Writing Aids

If you are have poor eyesight or arthritis, do not worry; you can still continue to write. There are several tools designed specifically for people who are losing the ability to write well or comfortably. Use these writing accessories and aids to make sure that you can continue your journey as a writer for as long as possible.
Magnifying lenses
You can buy a magnifying lens to help you write more clearly; if writing is not painful, but your eyes do not work as well as they used to, a magnifying lens is the perfect solution for you. You can find handheld lenses or lenses that attach to stands for hands-free use. You can even find magnifying lenses that have lights built into them; more light while you write means your eyes do no have to work as hard to see what you are writing.
Large pens and pencils
If you experience hand cramps or joint pain caused by arthritis, you should use oversized pens and pencils when you write. The extra circumference means you do not have to use as much muscle control to write. You can experience more comfort and less pain when you write if you use "fatter" pens and pencils.
If you think you can no longer write because of pain, discomfort or poor eyesight, your days of worrying about it are over; just use these tools to help you get back on track and keep writing. Make sure your eyes and your hands can help you when you need to let the words flow.
